In the years 1961 to 2001 the engineering college expanded in its specialization departments and in the years that followed did include multi-disciplined Concentration within the college which included Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, and Communication Engineering units.
SVNIT The Competition B.Tech programme application is Academic and Non-Doctoral, and admission is dependent on the all-India Joint Admissions Test (JEE) Main examination. The undergraduate degree focused on engineering and developing entrepreneurship knowledge is often coupled with a master of technology (M.Tech) and a permanent reduction elective such as Ph.D. allowing the graduate student to base knowledge preparation with a strong emphasis on research behind their work application. The core offered was not independent of the students’ experimentation undertaken so extensive as it offered an understanding of the application aspects of theories.
The SVNIT campus offers top-of-the-line facilities which enhance the overall growth of the students. There are scope for practical knowledge too with laboratories, fully equipped smart classrooms, a sizeable library and a research centre, all of which promote the learning process as well as creativity. The institute does not neglect R&D with its faculty and students actively involved in various modern initiatives such as renewable energy, green buildings, AI as well as data science. This research orientation enriches not only the learning experience but also the contribution of the students to the development of both industries and sciences.
Apart from the studies, SVNIT also motivates its students to participate in many activities which are outside the syllabus and enhance creative thinking, team spirit and leadership. There are many co-curricular activities on offer including cultural, technical and sports activities. Of all of them, the most attractive and inviting is the annual technical festival, “Technovation,” where students showcase their various talents and innovations to students from other areas of the country. Besides these events, there are a number of clubs and societies for students’ interests in robots, business, performing arts and social work which help them enhance their leadership potential and organizational skills.
